Ms. Nevada United States
Reigning Ms. Nevada United States 2024
Bora Jasa was crowned Ms. Nevada United States on June 23, 2024. She was also honored with a Multi-media Award. She represents a state that holds significance to her heart, home to Nellis Air Force Base where her brother, an Air Force Staff Sergeant and Afghanistan Combat Veteran, served with distinction.
Raised and a current resident in California, she leverages her dual-state presence to champion children's mental health, emphasizing the critical importance of self-esteem and self-love from a young age. Her commitment stems from her own challenging childhood marked by abuse, violence, poverty which fuels her mission to foster self-awareness and empowerment in others, especially during the foundational years of early childhood.
Bora believes that establishing a robust foundation of self-esteem in the developmental stages significantly enhances a child's ability to navigate life's challenges and maintain mental health throughout their lifetime. This conviction led her to author "The Ugly Lobster," a children's book dedicated to nurturing self-esteem. The book is donated to classrooms in California and Nevada, aiding young readers to grasp the transformative power of self-esteem, and to the non-profit A Place Called Home, an organization that provides protection and support to young under-advantaged children from the streets with art and activities to achieve social, emotional, and economic success.
Bora will be competing for the National Title in October with the hopes to expand her platform throughout the U.S.
